 Irish Salt Mining and Exploration has been mining De-Icing Rock Salt at its Kilroot Mine Near Carrickfergus since 1965. The Mine is not only worked but continuously developed using the latest mining techniques, machinery and management systems. From 14,500 tonnes mined in our inaugural year, we can now produce half a million tonnes of De-icing Rock Salt per annum.  Salt Sales Co, is the Sales Division of I.S.M.E. operating in the UK and throughout Ireland. Our knowledge of Local Authority needs is based on decades meeting the toughest demands in the harshest winters. We are committed to strengthening these links and forming new ones with Term Maintenance Contractors.  Import and Export is handled through our deep water berth on the north shore of Belfast Lough, complete with a loading conveyor running directly from storage facilities at the mine site. |
